Big cut in fares to Northland
In an attempt to encourage more South Islanders to take a winter holiday in Northland, Mount Cook . Airlines is offering a 25 per cent discount on fares between Christchurch and the Bay of Islands. This reduces the normal return fare to $126 return. The special rate, available to October 31, is subject to a minimum stay of three days.
In a further move to lure people away from the
southern winter to the subtropical north, the airline has announced a five-day package holiday with four nights at the T.H.C. Hotel Waitangi for $3OB per person on a share twin basis. The cost includes air travel, accommodation, breakfast and a la carte dinners, a launch trip, and a visit to Cape Reinga. The Mount Cook Group pioneered turbo-jet air travel to the Bay of Islands with the opening of the new airport at Keri Keri last year.
