School economics essay contest
»■ The Kelliher Economics Foundation has invited senior secondary-school pupils to enter its annual essay competition. The boy and girl with the best entries will be awarded $3OO a year for
three years of university study. A grant of $lOO will be made to the library fund of the schools attended by the award win-
Entries should be of fewer than 2500 words. This year’s subject includes the functions of money, inflation, and the views of an economist, Professor Milton Friedman. Entries close on September 15. Finalists will be selected by the foundation’s council, and an interview will then be arranged with each finalist, after which the winners will be chosen.
