‘News at Six’ on up
“News at Six” on TV2 has made great progress in ratings in the Auckland area, according to the results of a recent McNair Survey. On four nights between May 6 and 12, “News at Six” outrated TVl’s 6.30 p.m. news programme. The nights were Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. According to a spokesman for TV2 in Auckland,
this marks a significant improvement for the “News at Six” ratings. “I think it’s as good as we’ve been so far,” he said yesterday. “A lot more people are turning their sets on at six and staying with us throughout the half-hour.” The survey also showed that “News at Six” was TV2’s highest-rated programme on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of that week, he said.
