Applicants aplenty

PA Wellington More than 110 schoolteachers have applied for jobs in Singapore advertised in New Zealand newspapers in the last few weeks. The Singapore Government, through its High Commission in Wellington, advertised for English language teachers, with at least three years experience, to teach in secondary schools.

The Singapore High Commissioner (Mr K. H. Chan), said that the replies to the advertisements, first placed on April 20, came from all over New Zealand.

Mr Chan said his Government was also advertising in Britain, Canada, the United States, and Australia.
