Sydenham candidate
The National Party’s candidate for Sydenham at the General Election will be Mr I. G. B. Wilson, a civil engineer. Mr Wilson’s nomination was the only one received. He stood for Riccarton in 1963 and 1966, and for St Albans in 1969. Mr Wilson, aged 47, is chairman of the Christchurch Drainage Board’s finance committee; he has
been on the board since 1968. He has held a commission in the Royal Australian Air Force reserve, and is an active member of the Canterbury Aero Club anu the Canterbury Gliding Club. Mr Wilson is chairman of the Christchurch Civic Trust and of the Repertory Theatre Society. He is married, with two daughters.
