Tremor cuts power
An earthquake shook Whakatane and left the dairy township of Edgecumbe without power for 35 minutes early on Saturday. The tremor, lasting about four minutes, shook items from shelves and put Whakatane’s radio station off the air for a period. — (P.A.)
