Basketball squad named
PA Wellington A national women’s basketball squad of 12 was named in Palmerston North yesterday to prepare for the world games qualifying series against Australia in July.
The squad will meet a team from Lewis University. Illinois, as a warm-up In late June. Two of the squad. Hamilton’s Caroline Grev and Jeanette Howard (Christchurch), were selected subject to passing fitness tests.
The squad is: M. Gilchrist (Hamilton), L. Gillies (Napier,. H. Grayburn lOtagoi, M. Purnell (North Shore). M. Johns (North Shore), J. Rosenbrook (North Shore). J. Johnstone (Auckland, D. Robertson (Napier, C. Fleetc (Napier,. L. Wright (Nelson, C. Grty i Hamilton 1. J. Howard (Christchurch).
The coach is R. Rhede* (Napier), the assistant coach, W. Eldred (Wellington,, and the manageress, J. Phillips (Christchurch).
