Threat to works by engineers
PA Wellington Salaried shift engineers have become the latest group of workers in the freezing industry to seek a pay increase.
They have given warning that they will strike at the end of next week if they are not granted their pay claim. Details of the claim were not available yesterday. Talks between the engineers and freezing companies broke down last week. According to the industry, engineers’ pay already averages more than $13,000 a year.
