Husband jailed
PA Rotorua I An Edgecumbe truck I driver, Robert James Bidois,] was sentenced to life im-l prisonment yesterday after a i jury in the Supreme Court] at Rotorua, found him guilty! of murdering his wife. The sentence was imposed! by the Chief Justice (Sir Ronald Davison) at the end of the four-day trial. Bidois, aged 30, pleaded not guilty on Monday to the i charge of murdering Gail Marie Bidois at Edgecumbe on February 5.

Evidence wash offered that there had been | i an argument, that his wife; ihad asked for a separation,]: and there was mention of,l another man involved. 1! The defence was thatfi ] Bidois was in a state ’of i 1] “sleep confusion,” a form of automatism, at the time.
