The promotion of standards
Sir, — May I make the following points re H. K. Caw’s letter (“The Press,” April 12). The moral standards complained of are not primarily those of S.P.C.S. but of the moral law as summarised in the Ten Commandments and amplified in the New Testament. Those who break this moral law are immoral in the strict
sense of the word — by the dictionary meaning. It is agreed that social laws can be changed at the whim of people and rulers, but if these are contrary to the moral government of God the consequences must be faced. There is no question of discrimination against homosexuals. There is no discrimination in God’s loving offer of pardon, peace, power, and purity, through repentance and trust, in a redeeming and risen Saviour. It is to all. — Yours, etc., H. G. ORAM. April 14, 1978.
