Patrick back with his many wives
In “The Many Wives of Patrick,” a new comedy series on TV2 tonight, Patrick Cargill stars in his first television series since “Father Dear Father.” Cargill plays Patrick Woodford, a successful, middle-aged businessman, owner of a West End antique gallery. Divorced five times, he is hoping, when the series begins, to get his freedom from die sixth, so that he
can re-marry his first wife, Elizabeth, the girl he met and married while he was in the Army, and the only one of his wives who has not married again. This parts is played by Ursula Howells. And the other wives are played by Elspet Gray (Nancy), Wendy Williams (Josephine), Bridget Armstrong (Laura) and Elizabeth Counsel] (Helen). The other wife, an American called Betsy, is not seen in the series, al-
though she is frequently mentioned. Well known faces among the supporting cast include Amanda Barrie, Frank Gatliff, Agnes Laughlan, Priscilla Morgan, Wendy Padbury, Robin Parkinson, Thorley Walters and Brian Wilde. The series was written by Richard Waring, author of such television series as “Mother Makes Three,” “My Wife Next Door,” and “Not in Front -'of the Children.”
