Postal services

Now we have lost faith in it, because of the tremendous loss of mail, and the lack of staff concern about the situation. Many of my letters have never reached their des ination and I have lost money and gifts sent to other centres. Now I have to register everything — a costly affair. I believe c ers have similar problems, ai d they too, receive no help from the postal authorities, Whv"’ — Yours, etc., M. HALL. April 6, 1978. [The Acting Chief Postmaster in Christchurch, Mr E. A. G. Grandi, replies: ‘‘The Post Office is always ready to do what it can to trace missing mail whenever we are asked to do so. If M. Hall should have further trouble of this type, a call at any Post Office or at the Investigating Office, First Floor, Chief Post Office (Cathedral Square) and completion of a statement giving details of posting, is all that is necessary to start a sequence of inquiries at all handling points on the journey that the missing article should have taken.”]
