Kostanich loses
NZPA Sydney Dick Jones emerged the man to beat in the action-packed I.A.C. City Masters bowls tournament yesterday. Jones, who narrowly lopt last year’s final to Bob King, scored an impressive 31-25 win over Gosford’s Wily Joe Haggerty yesterday, to enter the fourth round. The strongest challengers to Jones appear certain to come from three N.S.W. bowlers, Ken Metham, Trevor Wagner and Ron Dennis, who all advanced to the fourth round with clear-cut wins. New Zealand’s Ivan Kostanich was one of the third-round casualties, losing 21-31, to the consistent Kevin Lean.
