Energy sources
Sir, — One does not have to be an adherent, of the Values Party to applaud the excellent and down-to-earth article on energy by its leader, Tony Kunowski, in your issue of April 8. He pointed out that, according to the United States Department 1 of Energy, the world’s demand for oil will exceed the supply in only three 1o four years. This can only mean increasing prices and
rationing of oil fuels away from private motoring, which forms the largest volume of traffic, to essential uses such as public transport and power generation. Why are we still designing and building motorways? Thanks to Tony Kunowski for trying to get our heads out of the sand. — Yours, H. G. ROYDS. April 10, 1978.
