Boy hijacker
A 15-year-old boy armed with a rifle surrendered to authorities on Saturday after he failed in an attempt to hijack a Piedmont Airlines Boeing 737. The youth gave up after an alert stewardess herded the passengers from the plane and the crew escaped from the cockpit, leaving him alone inside. Authorities said > that Virginia state police and Federal Bureau of Investigations; officials in an armoured car; parked on the runway next! to the plane talked the boyj into surrendering after a stand-off of more than two: hours — Richmond (Virginia). ;
