NZPA Canberra A 15-man Australian National University Mountaineering Club team has an odd twist to its assault on the Indian Himalayan peak of Mt Dungairi (7066 m
On the march from base camp, expedition members will wear socks to collect seeds at various stages. The socks will be then placed in sterile potting mixture, encouraging the seeds to germinate. Scientists plan to use the novel idea to study the accidental carrying of seeds from one region to another by humans.
