The promotion of standards
Sir, — I was responsible for the articles referred to by W. D. McCullough as “extremely objectionable” (“The Press,” April 6). For some reason my name was omitted. The views expressed are thus my' own, but would doubtless have the backing of S.P.C.S. There was no “blatant attack on homosexuals” — the word was used once in the 4 articles of about 1500 words, and was included amongst the results of degeneracy in a society where the moral law is disregarded. The line of argument was: Society must have an ethical base. That base, on which all true standards rest, has been provided by God in the moral law. It was provided in lo”e for our good (as the left-
hand rule on the road is for our good). It carries sanctions. History shows the results of obedience, or disobedience. God, in great love and at great cost, has made it workable, through the refl empt i v e power of Christ. — Yours, etc.,
H. G. ORAM. April 6, 1978.
