Secretary says name sullied
The secretary of the West Coast Hospital Board is seeking a legal opinion on statements made by some board members about the lack of surgical cover at Buller Hospital.
“I regret to say that some lof these statements have (been referred to my solicitor because they have brought public odium and contempt on me,” Mr B. P. Jackson told the board on Wednesdav.
j “My name has been sul- , lied and I am endeavouring (to clear it.” The board discussed the ; lack of surgical cover at Buller Hospital, caused by (the medical superintendent (Mr R. G. Bhattacharyya) going on three months’ study leave. r t will make a full statement on the services at Buller Hospital.
