Forecasts: Canterbury: South-west-erlies, fresh in exposed coastal places, and cloudy skies and some showers this morning, but fair periods increasing during the afternoon; lighter
winds inland with mainly fine weather and mild afternoon temperatures. Marlborough, Nelson: Southwesterlies prevailing by mid-morning, fresh in exposed places; some showers about the Marlborough coast, but clearing weather elsewhere; moderate temperatures. Buller, Westland: Moderate locally fresh south-west-erlies; showers clearing slowly and the weather becoming fine; moderate temperatures. Outlook: Some showers in South Westland; fair elsewhere.
