New medical research fund
An $BO,OOO medical research exchange fellowship has been established by the Wellcome Trust in Britain and the New Zealand Medical Research Council. The aim of the scheme is to promote contact between scientists in New Zealand and in Britain and revive the strong associations of the past. The awards will be made available mainly for short visits, up to three months, by active research workers. The exchange fellowships will complement other fellowships offered by the Medical Research Council. They will allow a scientist, who may not otherwise be eligible for travel assistance, to visit overseas colleagues to resolve difficulties in his own research, or to get up
