Cheyenne Street top
Cheyenne Street, Upper Riccarton, was judged the best street in Paparua County’s sixth annual garden competition. Mr F. K. Alexander, of 104 Springs Road, Hornby, won the premier award for the best individual garden. Other winners ■in the same class in each area of the country were: A. K. Asher, 29 Middlepark Road, Sockburn; D. J. Dwyer, 137 Halswell Junction Road, Halswell; B. R. Lingham, 13 Montague Street, Islington; P. S. Rodger, 30 Marshs Road, Templeton; R. M. White, 6 Coronado Place, Yaldhurst; R. P. Bonnington, Weedons/Ross Road, West Melton; R. B. Gardner, “Tullymore,” Broadfields, No. 4 R.D.; C. L. Gallagher, 553 Springs Road, Prebbleton; R. E. Roach, 121 Kennedys Bush Road, Halswell; B. Armstrong, Lincoln-Tai Tapu Road, Tai Tapu. Mr R. B. Gardner, “Tullymore,” Broadfleld, No. 4 R.D., won the award for the best individual gardenfarm property, and Minards Motels, Main South Road, was judged to have the best industrial garden.
