U.S. stallion purchased
PA Wellington A half-brother to the recordbreaking Australian-based sire, Without Fear, has been purchased by the Wellington bloodstock agent. Mr Gtynn Tucker, and will stand at the Kemptori Park Stud, Putaruru, Named Never Till Dawn, the horse is a chestnut three-year-old and was purchased from the United States through the English agency. Goodwood Bloodstock. He is unraced, having suffered a serious fetlock injury as a foal when he was trodden on by his dam.
He was operated on, and could possibly have raced, but his connections decided not to risk him. Never Till Dawn is by Herbager from Without Fear’s dam, Never Too Late, which won the Oaks and One Thousand Guineas. Three other sone of Herbager —Wharf. Perpetual, and Makor—are already at stud in New Zealand. The horse will be limited to 35 mares this year at a fee of $lOOO each. He has been bought by a small syndicate comprising three Wellingtonians and the proprietor of Kempton Park, Mr Peter Hanan.
