Norton Park put down
Special correspondent Palmerston North Orchidra and Spring Mist attracted attention to their prospects with a sound gallop at Woodville yesterday morning. The session was marred by a fatal accident to Norton Park. Norton Park was running his final trial for the Champion Handicap when he broke a hind ieg near the 600 m mark. He was destroyed. A five-year-old Idomeneo—RoneH gelding. Norton Park won I three races last season. He looked close to form again. It was bad luck for the trainer.
