Softball rained off
PA Auckland Auckland softball officials had every reason to expect a good crowd at last night’s softball double-header at Newmarket Park, but instead were literally thunderstruck at the small attendance. The first rain In two months washed out the second game and a heavy-weight boxing contest attracted many fans away from the first game. The second match of the night, that between Auckland and that betdeen Auckland and Peterbllt, promised to be a much more even contest, but unfortunately was abandoned after each team had batted one complete innings. Peterbllt had two runs on the board.
Peterbllt beat Waikato, 11-4, in the early game.
