Half-naked girl found injured
PA Napier Napier detectives were yesterday investigating a complaint of assault after a partially clad girl, aged 18, was found lying on the floor of the women’s toilets near the soundshell on Marine Parade on Wednesday evening.
The girl was lying on her back, naked from the waist down, and had a plastic bag over her head and a pair of pantyhose tied around her neck when discovered about 10.30 p.m. The officer in charge of the Napier C. 1.8., Detective Senior-Sergeant A. B. Dalzell,
said the girl, who had been reported missing from her Bay View home about 9 p.m., had lacerations to the mouth and feet, caused by a sharp instrument, possibly a razor blade. She was treated at the Napier Hospital and discharged, and later complained that she had been asssaulted by two unknown men accompanied by a female. Detective recovered several exhibits from the toilets and were anxious to learn the girl’s movements between 4 p.m. and the time she was found.
