M.P. beats challenger
PA Auckland The member of Parliament for Coromandel .Mr L. C. Schultz) has won the National Party nomination for the new Hauraki seat in the General Election this year. His nomination was decided in a ballot with the Mayor of Paeroa (Mr G. Lee) at a meeting of 182 party delegates in Thames. Mr Lees said that he was disappointed at the result. It was his second defeat: he was beaten for the Coromandel seat in 1972.
