Arts grant to teacher
Ms Susan Battye, of Grevmouth, and Mr John McWilliam. of Christchurch, are among the recipients of 1978 grants in theatre arts, film, and modern dance, announced by the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council. A one-year study grant to the " University of
Newcastle upon Tyne has been awarded to Ms Battye. She is a school teacher and the knowledge she gains from her study will be used for school drama. Mr McWilliam, a member of Alternative Cinema in Christchurch. was granted money to complete his film, “Waitaha.”
