Brabin Cup trial
Scoring was fairly even in a one-day Brabin Cup trial at Hagley Park yesterday. Richard Leggat’s team declared at 181 for eight and Roger Fuller’s side reached that mark with nine wickets down. Although there were several useful scores on both sides. Fuller was the only batsman to make a half century. Barry Lindsay was the most successful bowler, taking four for 47. Another one-day match will be played today, after which the Brabin Cup squad will be announced. Richard Leggat’s XI 181/S declared (J. Donaldson 44, G. Austin 37, G. L. Kench 24. M. Lane 22: B. Lindsay 4/47, G. Boyle 2/21) met Roger Fuller’s XI 187 (Fuller 52, P. J. Rattray 36. B. White 34, S. Booth 29; Lane 3/27. S. R. McNally 2/37, R. Greer 2/29).
