Arrest after shots fired at shops
j PA Whangarei I The Kaitaia police arrested i two youths, aged 14 and 15, . after surrounding a house at ; I Lake Ohia at 7.35 a.m. yes- ’ terday. A shotgun was fired ;at shops in Main Street, 1 Awanui, the previous evening, but nobody was hurt. The police say that the youth aged 15 will appear in the Children and Young Persons Court at Kaitaia on Wednesday charged with in-
tent to intimidate by discharging a firearm. Two shots were fired. The first shattered the front door of Mr L. Yerkovich’s dairy at 10.30 p.m. while he was at the rear of the building. The second smashed the door of a nearby shop as Mr Yerkovich went out to investigate.
