Gifts for prisoners
The Canterbury Prisoners Aid and Rehabilitation Society appeals for money to enable it to make its annual distribution of gifts to the wives and children of prisoners this Christmas. Each year, the society gives small gifts to prisoners’ families, but this year it is short of money and would like assistance in distributing the gifts. Donations of either money or small gifts can be given to the society at P.O. Box 1730 or telephone 795-135. Christmas note nith difference A group of Christchurch poets will hold their third poetry reading session at the Arts Centre on December 1— "Scorched Earth and Christmas." The poets are Richard Hopkinson, Mollie Ames, Ken Hudson, John Moffat, and Rob Jackman.
