Buller beaten
PA Westport Marlborough advanced to the third round of the Hawke Cup cricket elimination series after meeting Buller at Westport at the week-end. The visitors notched 261 runs in their first innings after play was held up for two hours through rain. The top score was made by the opening batsman, Ross Neal, who scored 54, while Buller’s captain, Alan Ireland, led the bowling with 4 for 66. In reply Buller could only score 128.
