Bob: Shearer, holed an eightfoot pressure putt at; the final green for a one-' shot victory in the SUSISO.OOO Colgate champion of champions tournament at the Victoria Golf Club in Melbourne yesterday Shearer, aged 29, finished birdie-birdie for a final round 72 to pocket the first prize of $30,000, his biggest ever cheque. The big hitting home-town hero finished with a seven-under-the card four-round total of 281. One shot behind him, in a four-way tie for second, were Sydney’s Jack Newton, England’s Maurice Bembridge, and two Americans, John Benda and Curtis Strange.
