Ushers at the Town Hall
Sir,— As a ratepayer patron I appreciate Mr Connell’s reply. However, reappraising the future staff levels and sales trends after the damage has been done means retraining replacements for the resignations received to date. It appears there is a communication block between the management levels and staff, and that is where the reappraisals -should also be done. I appreciate the idiosyncracies of running the Town Hall complex, but when we have a good, experienced and well groomed team, many of the original team staff, constant liaison goes hand in hand with teamwork. If the management or the board of management wishes to cut staff this way they should reflect that the ratepayers and people put them there and people are not their chattels. — Yours, etc., GRAEME D. STANLEY. November 24, 1977.
