Toddler trapped in flames
PA Hastings A three-year-old girl was seriously burned in a car which caught alight, near Hastings yesterday. The child, Tristine Hawkins, was sitting in her ! father’s car when it burst into flames outside the Femhill Hotel. Mr Hawkins rushed out but by the time he managed to drag his daughter free she was already badly burned. She was taken to hospital in Hastings. Her condition was described then as serious, and the police said she was fighting for her life. Later her condition was reported as “stable.” The cause of the fire, which gutted the car, has not been established.
