Child-care course plea
i The Christchurch Technical Institute Council will invite an Education Depari - ment working party to lookover the institute, and will make submissions to the party about its request for a training course at the institute for child-care workers.
The council has applied to the department for such a course, but has been told that nothing can be done until resolutions are made on basic questions of policy. The department said it could not say whether or when such a course would be approved. The deputy director of the institute (Miss J. M. Herbison) told a council meeting last evening that three applications for the establishment of such a course had been (made.
