Canterbury strong in 15-mile road race
Canterbury’s remarkable strength in distance running was well demonstrated when 12 out of a record field of about 100 ran under Ihr 26min for the Lion Breweries annual 15-mile race from Gamblins Road to Redcliffs and return on Saturday' evening. Graham Taylor of the St Martins club, a relative newcomer to long-distance racing scored a well-deserved first placing. Paddy O’Hagen gave a good example of fitness to other airline pilots with a further improvement in form to take second, as well as being first veteran over 40.
