NZPA Cologne Bjorn Borg, of Sweden, won the Cologne Grand Prix tournament when he beat Poland’s Wotjek Fibak, 2-6,7-5,6-3, in the final. And in Paris, Corrado Barazzutti, of Italy, beat Brian Gottfried, of the United States, 7-6, 7-6, 6-7, 3-6, 6-4 in the final of the Paris Grand Prix open tennis tournament at Paris.
Tennis.—Bolivia completed a 5-0 sweep over Peru in their South American Davis Cup elim-
ination tie when it won both reverse singles matches, at Lima. Bolivia will now meet Chile. Soccer.— Newcastle United, bottom of the English first division soccer standings, have sacked their manager. Richard Dinnis. The directors said the team’s disappointing performance this season had made a change inevitable. Cycling. — Eddy Merckx and Patrick Sercu. of Belgium, have won the European 100 kilometre indoor team cycling champion-; ship-in Copenhagen.
