Airlift to ice begins
A Royal New Zealand Air Force Hercules aircraft will leave Christ’ church for Antarctica today on the first flight in support of research programmes there this summer.
The flight is one of nine the R.N.Z.A.F. will make before December 5. Today’s flight will take an urgently needed bulldozer to McMurdo Station.
