Gift of books
Three sets of books, mainly on Japanese history and literature, have been given to the Asian languages collection at the University of Canterbury library by the Japan Foundation. The 66 volumes, which are in English and Japanese, are on their way by ship from Japan. A letter will be presented to the university this morning by the Japanese consular affairs officer in Christchurch (Mr Mitsuaki Nozaki) officially notifying it of the gift.
