Burns Philp profit up
NZPA Sydney Burns Philp and Company, Ltd, edged group profit up 8.7 per cent to sAustlo,27o,ooo in the year to June 30.
The result was after a mixed year for the group, in which the contribution from the company’s activities in New Guinea, Fiji and the New Hebrides plantations improved but contributions from Bums Philp Finance and Sun Electric fell dramatically. Sales rose 23 per cent to $423M. The annual dividend has been held at 15c a share, with an unchanged final dividend of 7.5 c.
