Boys earn $8600
About 700 members of the Boys’ Brigade raised $B6OO after completing a sponsored walk on the Port Hills on Saturday. “We are very happy we have reached sBooo,’ ’said the president of the Canterbury battalion (Mr W. S. Collins). The blue skies and easterly breeze made conditions ideal for walking, he said. The boys, accompanied by parents and friends, left from Cashmere High School, and took one of four planned routes. The boys between eight and 11 settled for a 20km walk up Hackthorne Road and back down the Rapaki Track.
