Actress’s eyes for the blind
NZPA New York; In a spontaneous gesture, the actress, Elizabeth Taylor, has donated her violet eyes to the International Eye Foundation, the Associated Press reported. Miss Taylor's agent confirmed that Miss Taylor made the decision during a mid-September eye ball in Washington, for which she served as honorary chairperson. She and her husband, John; Warner, were seated with’ the foundation’s medical; director, Dr John Harry King, the spokesman said,; I when Miss Taylor slipped a 1 |slip of paper across the I table giving written per-I mission for her eyes to be deposited in the eye bank ‘after her death. Her husband responded ini kind, donating his eyes also. > The foundation, which I works to prevent and cure blindness, will use them to Restore someone else’s sight.
