Jets up the Gauges
NZPA-Reuter Calcutta The joint Indian-New Zealand jet boat expedition up the Ganges River led bv Sir Edmund Hillary began a long haul from Calcutta yesterday through 3000 km of often turbulent water.
The expedition’s aim is to travel from the mouth of the Ganges in the Bay of Bengal to ijs source in the snow and ice of the Himalayas.
