’Marlboro' award is increased
The cash award for the owner of the 1978 Marlboro Filly of the Year has been increased from the $5OOO of last season to S7OOO. The joint sponsors of the! series, the New Zealand!' Thoroughbred Breeders’ i Association and the Marl-1 horo Cigarette Company,) have also sponsored a 82501 trophy for the owmer of the winning filly in each event, j As usual, a breeder’s pre-! mium of 8500 will be attached to each race in the 1 series. The awards for the top! filly’s trainer and jockey will j be $lOOO and $5OO respec- ' lively. |< The series will comprise;! of the same nine races as , last season and the totalj: stakes this year will be < $138,500. Points will be based on gross stakes, as in J the last two seasons. L
