Fuel for sport
Sir, — I wonder why in these energy-conscious days, motor sport on land and water continues to prosper and even gain followers. While we, the motorists, are encouraged to “let our litres last a little longer” these sportsmen continue to use our precious resources and imports at an unrestricted pace. Could someone please enlighten me as to the logic behind the apparent lack of controls on fuel consumption? — Yours, etc., E. P. MACDONALD. August 27, 1977.
