Neurological Foundation
Sir, — I was amazed to find in my box last week an appeal from the N.Z. Neurological Foundation. I cannot deny the worthiness of the cause; but surely it should now be su-ported by the Mental Health Foundation, to which New Zealand has contributed so generously. Duplicatim) of appeals wins no friends. — Yours, etc., G. A. POLLOCK. August 21, 1977.
[The chairman of the New Zealand Neurological Foundation (Mr J. C. Seabrook) replies: “The Mental Health Foundation’s interest is in psychological medicine. The Neurological Foundation conducts research into physical disorders of the neurological system such as head injury, concussion, stroke, spina bifida, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. Some confusion about the separateness of the two foundations may have arisen because the Neurological Foundation, for six years, has used a two-headed symbol: just before its recent
Telethon appeal the Mental Health Foundation adopted a multiple-head symbol. The Neurological Foundation is at present conducting an envelope appeal.”!
