Blair still bowling
At 45 yean of Age, the former New Zealand fast bowler, Bob Blair, is still going strong. has been the professional Y l4ll the Crompton club tn the Central Lancashire League this season and will return to England from Brisbane for a similar appointment next year. In a letter to the secretary of the New Zealand Cricket Council (Mr R. G. Knowlee), Blair confessed that he did not bowl as fast as he used to. "I’m down to about Tony MacGlbbon’s pace," he said. But he is still getting his share of wickets. In Brisbane, Blair has been player-coach with a colts team in the senior competition.
In his New Zealand career, from 1951 to 1955. Blair took 537 wickets, still the national record. He toured South Africa in 195354 and England In 1958.
