Square sounds
Sir, — What manner of man is this Cr Brittenden? Prowling the Square in the dark like some latter-day Scrooge waiting to pounce on anyone having fun. Humbug! We certainly made less noise about the whole business than Cr Brittenden appears to be making. And I suspect that the Mayor of Christchurch and his good lady are as miffed as I am at being called “Yahoos.” He was there; so was Muzza; so were the Brer Family — Bear, Fox and Rabbit; and a whole bunch of kids. Powerful enemies, Councillor. — Yours, etc.. RODNEY BRYANT. August 26, 1977.
