Maximum sought for over-parking
Parking fines in Christchurch will probably rise later this month — from $1 to $3 for the first 30 minutes or less of over-parking The City Council’s works and traffic committee has recommended such a rise, in line with a policy that the maximum fee scale should be used in the city. The new scale was gazetted this month, the first change since 1975.
The maximum fee for 30 minutes to an hour of infringement would rise from $2 to $5. For one to two hours overparked it will be $7 ($4); from two hours to four hours, $ll ($8). and for more than four hours, $l3 ($10).
