Proposals to settle dispute
PA Wellington Fresh proposals to settle the dispute involving the Government fisheries vessels James Cook and W. J. Scott, tied up at Nelson, were discussed yesterday. The Cabinet Committee on the State Servicea is believed to have considered reports on the two vessels, from the Acting Minister of Fisheries (Mr V. S. Young). Mr Young discussed the dispute with the ships’ masters and senior Ministry officers yesterday afternoon. It is believed that the proposals will be put to the parties soon.
